Rebuild notice

Preserving the mission, rebuilding the platform.

The former site failed beyond practical recovery. This release starts fresh with modern, maintainable, accessibility-first technology.

C Different is in the process of rebuilding its digital home after an extended outage caused by legacy platform failure and data corruption in the former website environment.

For years, C Different helped connect blind and visually impaired athletes with sighted guides so they could participate in 5Ks, marathons, triathlons, Ironman-distance events, and other endurance challenges. The original website served as a central point of connection for athletes, guides, supporters, and race communities. Over time, the aging technical infrastructure became unstable, and the site eventually failed beyond practical recovery.

Rather than attempting to restore an outdated and compromised system, C Different is being rebuilt on a modern, secure, and accessibility-first platform. The new site is designed to preserve the original mission while improving reliability, usability, privacy, and long-term maintainability.

The rebuilt platform will make it easier for visually impaired athletes to request guide support, for sighted athletes to volunteer, and for administrators to coordinate safe and effective matches. Accessibility will be central to the rebuild, including screen-reader-friendly navigation, keyboard-accessible forms, clear page structure, visible focus states, and modern web standards.

C Different's mission remains the same: to create opportunity, connection, and full participation for blind and visually impaired athletes through sport.
